Guest guest
Shyra Boy, do I get those bank scams, too. I can't believe that anybody would be so stupid as to reply to anything like that. RE: PayPal Scam LOL I get them EVERY day at email address I have NEVER used on any groups. Just to correspond with customers and my hubby. Somehow the spammers got those email addresses. I love those....never had PayPal on those accounts... My favorite spam is the banking ones. Click here to update your account info. I belong to a credit union and they NEVER send you anything by email to update your account. They ALWAYS send a letter on paper when they need an update. I would NEVER update my banking info online. The bank that holds my business accounts does NOT allow any updates to your account online. It's kind of a pain because you MUST do it in person at the bank. But at least no one can pretend to be me! Every one at my bank knows me. They still have to ask for ID when doing any account maintenance. I like that! ~Shyra A. Guest guest
I recently got several e-mails from " PayPal " saying that an unauthorized user had accessed my account. I just ignored it ~ figured it was spam! I *hate* that. ~nne in Columbia County <http://bathtubjunkie.net/> http://bathtubjunkie.net/
Guest guest
Have a little tolerance for those who fall for these scams. There are many honest people out there who wouldn't consider sending an email pretending to be someone else, or trying to impersonate a bank or other financial institution. Or sell non-existent stock shares, or convince people to invest in phony land deals. That's why scams in general continue to be successful, online and offline. Also, many people don't yet understand that the net and email can't be taken at face value, that anyone can throw up a web page, and that any email could be from just about anyone, including a mindless virus. These people unconsciously assume that the 'from' field is as valid as the caller id info that shows up on their phones. It's a reasonable assumption. Who in their right minds would assume that something as massive as the internet, something over which so much information passes, that has become so depended on for information flow, would have so little security? That the sender, reply-to, even the date can't be relied on? Even us 'seasoned folk' get suckered in at times, as evidenced by the number of hoaxes many of us still fall for and pass on. Guest guest
You know since I have had this cancer issue....I have people coming out of the woodwork trying to sell me cures...sad to think how people can prey on someone when they are sick just to make a buck. What a sick world we live in. God will judge them in the end. One lady came over my house and wanted to sell me this fruit juice that cured everything from acne to cancer. It was like 50 a bottle and I needed one bottle a day. Glad I grew up in the getto of Philly I can spot a scam. > > > > I heard an interview by him and he kind of dodged the success question. > > > > Thanks, Robyn > > > > > >
