Guest guest
Hi , My daughter takes nothing but LDN - she was previously on Flagyl, Asacol, and Canasa - but quit when she started LDN. Off course - she said they didn't help her at all anyway.
Guest guest
Hi, Since I last year had a serious disease in one of my kidneys, rcc, my GI wouldn't let me have anything else but short term prednisone to stop flares when they gets too much for me. I have never used any other meds for Crohns, i got the Crohns diagnose last summer, just one month after the rcc surgery. (got rid of a part of my one kidney).... Prednisone isn't good for me either, but they have to give me something to get some improvements. Well, I hate using prednisone (who doesn't??), my immune system gets suppressed, and that scares me..., anyway, had no choise, but started using LDN after tapering off of prednisone last year. Though, I followed the prednisone protocol to the finger tips at first. Prednisone is, (I just guess)....maybe the only medication you have to taper off slowly and never just quit cold turkey?, it's really dangerous doing the opposite due to pred/entocort, but I think you may stop other meds as you want. BUT ALWAYS ASK YOUR DOCTOR OR CALL YOUR PHARMACY. I know a person having UC, he used asacol at the same time as pred, and tapered off of it during 8-9 months. He found out himself that this was an ok way. He of course asked his doctor for advice at first. Ingrid [low dose naltrexone] Re: LDN for Crohn /otOK, back to the TOPIC, has anyone been able to stop the meds for Crohn's/UC by using LDN? If so, did you have to taper off like you do with pred?------------------------------------
