Cupid all set to launch low cost female condoms in India

6/15/2009 The premier condom manufacturing company, Cupid Ltd based in

Nasik, Maharashtra since 1998, has developed female condoms to be sold at an

affordable price as a preventive tool to combat AIDS. Fueled by the growing

concerns over the side effects of contraceptive pills and their high prices,

this could be a good alternative in the direction to help women protect

themselves against unwanted pregnancies.

Cupid Limited has been producing various varieties of male condoms for more than

a decade.

Cupid has developed this new product at its state of the art Research &

Development (R & D) facility at Nasik Plant. This center has been approved by the

Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India. Cupid's female condom has

also been approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

The company will primarily launch this product in Indian Markets, and has

subsequent plans to hit global markets as well, through its already established

distributors. The female condom to date has not been as successful as the male

condom primarily due to lack of education, poor availability, and higher costs.

The women of today are very much concerned about hazards of unsafe sex and this

could be helpful for them to avoid unwanted pregnancies and spread of HIV /

AIDS. Condoms have been used by men for decades, but now Cupid is pleased to

provide a much needed contraceptive tool in the hands of a woman. The female

condom can be used by the women, thus they do not need to depend on their

partner for safeguarding themselves against HIV / AIDS and unwanted pregnancies.

The stock was trading at Rs.8, down by Rs.0.39 or 4.65%. The stock hit an

intraday high of Rs.8 and low of Rs.8.

The total traded quantity was 800 compared to 2 week average of 11812.
