Guest guest
Jim (aka Captain Caveman) and I have just returned from the incredible conference in Los Angeles. The conference was well attended by the medical profession AND many patients or people otherwise interested in LDN. Toranto, Turkey, Hong Kong, Colorado, Localised L.A. and other Californians come to mind. Interactions by all seemed orchestrated by something MORE than chance to bring people toghther that had questions or neeeded help otherwise. A young man with M.S. from the Southern L.A. area heard just this week from a rural Ireland frend with NO internet acess about LDN and the conference. He decided to attend as a walk in.........a young couple with the wife newly diagnosed, again local, came and received a gift of HOPE that they WOULD make it through this and even could raise the hope of having a baby with the mother on LDN. The reports and talks varied from very technical to Skip's talk with pie charts of percentages on relapses, etc. as very down to earth. Dr. McCandless gave much hope regarding the HIV trials in Africa with pictures that gave a human face to the trials. Her points on Autism were very helpful to one Colorado Mom and others. Dr. Tom Gilhooly was delightful to listen to just for his accent and humor. He gave great insight into the process in getting a trial for LDN and the light bulb moments in deciding on measuring bladder control of M.S. patients as THE thing to measure for the trial. Dr. Burt Berkson always brings much hope for cancer and liver patients with proof shown in his slide of PET scans of remission. Dr. Gluk shared exciting news of ongoing trials with quotes from the researchers that reveiled as much as they could until publication. Information of several new books about LDN circulated and will offer other avenues for doctors and the lay person to get information about LDN. We were so excited about the interactions between everyone at the after conference mixer and know many friendships were forged during that time. Jim and I look forward to attending the next scheduled conference wherever it may be and hope many of you all can join us too!
