Guest guest
Hello Bobbie, I love Jini's book, it is very informative. But to achieve remission you don't have to order her formula. Despite her statements that Absorb Plus is the best you can try other available on the market formulas and do well. The important step would be the reintroduction diet, that's when you could put in use Jini's food chart (still using your personal intuition). I'm writing from the over 2.5 years of experience. Enteral nutrition is my 12 yo son's main treatment and source of life. He had grate results on Modulen IBD (and remember what's Jini thinks of this formula?) but unfortunately Nestle's CEO's decided to pull out Modulen from our coast. Now my son drinks vanilla flavored Nutren 1.5 (375 cal/can). Also Peptamen 1.5 is good too but has bitter taste. I tried it and to me it tastes pretty decent. I would prefer Peptamen over Nutren because it doesn't contain carrageenan but my son just refused to drink it. If you have a GI you can ask him(her) to write a letter to the insurance company stating that enteral nutrition is going to be your first line of treatment and they should cover the costs of the formula. We pay just $34 a month out of pocket. As of LDN and enteral nutrition. From the experience I would advise to start the nutrition first and when you'll get well and your blood tests will show that you are well then you can start LDN. In this case you'll be able to tell what is helping and what is not or if they work better in combination. Regarding the big D and liquid diet. My son never had D as Crohn's symptom, always firm stools once/twice a day. After he started exclusive enteral nutrition his stool became liquid and he had trouble holding it, but still he went once or twice a day. He had that problem for about six month or so. Now the consistency is firm again. Good luck, Chachka. PS I have at home unopened three sample bottles of Absorb Plus, Nutren 1.0, Nutren 1.5, Nutren 2.0 (500 cal/can) and I think Peptamen 1.5. If you'd like I can sent these formulas to you, few cans of each, so you can try how they taste.
Guest guest
Have you considered Dr. Jaqueline McCandless protocol to get rid of diarrhea? Ingrid From: winbrookdobermans2 <bobbiejack2@...>low dose naltrexone Sent: Wednesday, October 29, 2008 3:08:37 AMSubject: [low dose naltrexone] Elemental Diet and LDNBecause I have continued to have so many Crohn's symptoms, especially the diarrhea, I have considered going on an elemental diet (liquid) and to continue taking LDN. Have any of you ever tried the Absord Aid IBD Remission elemental diet? This whey-based elemental diet powder is quite expensive, and I would love to know if others have tried it with any success. I've read the book by Jini Patel which outlines the six-week or so liquid diet which she claims will lead to remission.Sure would love to have some others opinions.Bobbie------------------------------------
