Guest guest
Hi Ginny, I just started LDN only few days ago, and I also felt like throwing in the towel after only one dose - what a wimp i am !! But i reduced the dose and kept on it for a day or two, still feeling crappy even with a little bit. Then i stopped using it for a few days. I was going to throw the bottle of LDN out the window, but even after a few days of not taking it, i noticed a small increment of improvement in my arthritis, so i thought what the heck, might as well stick with it. I still feel dreadful from the LDN side effects, but i'm getting accustomed to it now. One thing i noticed is that my bowel movements have normalised (won't go into the gory details) so maybe it does help the intestines. I sure hope so since i have gut dysbiosis. I still take pain meds even tho i'm on LDN, so i don't see why you can't do the same. If you need pain relief, then use it. There are some meds you can take and some you can't with LDN. Maybe someone else on the group can post the list of allowed meds. I take paracetamol. Which pain meds do you have ? I read that DMSO (Dimethylsulfoxide)is an approved and effective treatment for Interstitial Cystitis. What treatment do you get for it currently ? hope you can stick with it... Guest guest
Leonie, Thank you for sharing. The pain meds I was taking are opiods which I understand cannot be taken with LDN. A list of " approved " pain meds would be great. I have had IC for a very long time and used to get DMSO treatments. Now I just manage with stress reduction, watching what I ingest and drinking lots of water. From what I read LDN doesn't have side effects. Its tough to tell what is happening because I went off all my meds the same day and waited 16 days before starting LDN. My symptoms could be due to having no depressants (opiods) in my system, my immune system kicking in and purging toxins or who knows. My osteoarthritis and fibro feel better, my IC feels under control but the intestines are attacking me. MISERABLE!!!MISERABLE!!!MISERABLE!!!! I did start drinking water with rice flour tonight and I am cutting out all sugar. My family knows this is serious for me to give up sugar but for me it is a matter of life or death. I know sugar is so bad for you but some things are tough to break. At this point it has been very easy as that is how bad my insides feel. I will be sticking with LDN for the long term as I think that to see results especially with the intestines you have to be on it awhile. Besides some people who take it get smooth skin, thick hair and lose weight. I am waiting for those side effects. LOL Ginny > > > > I wanted to jump in and introduct myself.
