Guest guest
Art, I'm emailing back to you directly because you seem to know quit a lot about using LDN as an auto-immune therapy. A little background: I posted my question to the group 2 months ago regarding a combination therapy of LDN and Tysabri. You responded informing me that using the two together would not be good because the two meds would counter each other because one acts as an immune booster and the other suppresses your immune system. You see I've been making an effort to educate my neuro doc about LDN and the success MS patients have experienced using it. He's very " by the book " and wants to see some clinical data which demonstrates the benefit in treating MS. I told him that LDNs use is more of a grass roots effort mainly by patients and also shared the fact that LDN is such a low producing financial proposition for med companies because it's so inexpensive and therefore these companies haven't gotten behind this med. with classic clinical trials, data, etc. In other words, my Doc wants real clinical data not just successful testimonies from MS patients using it. He's especially bothered by the notion that LDN can't be used with other MS drug therapies other then Copaxone. I have been on Tysabri for 8 months with much success and therefore he doesn't want to risk stopping the treatment for LDN. I went to the LDN website and tried to find something written about the need to stop other counter MS meds when taking LDN but couldn't find anything. Do you know of something that was written about that topic that I can give my neuro Doc to read? He's willing to give me a prescription for LDN but not if I have to stop taking Tysabri. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Chris-RRMS DXd' 6 years ago.
