Guest guest
If anyone with MS has had an experience with hip surgery due to osteo arthritis, I would be interested in hearing whether the surgery affected your leg muscle strength, and for how long you had to be off LDN while taking pain meds either during the day or at night. Thanks, Joyce
Guest guest
Hi Joyce, I have MS and had a total, (Metal on Metal), left hip replacement 18 months ago. Stopped my LDN the night before surgery and resumed after about a week if I remember correctly when I discontinued my narcotic pain meds completely. I received in hospital physical therapy as well as twice a week at home for three more months to strengthen my leg muscles. You may not have to have it that long my case was extreme since I should have had the surgery much sooner so there were some complications. What a relief it is to be able to sleep without any more hip pain! Of course now I set off metal detectors, but the orthopedist gave me a card to carry for that!!! If you have any more questions about the surgery you may email me privately. Best of luck. Gigi
