Guest guest
Hello Cami and all, I have been reading with interest. Many have written off-list. Thank you. I have heard that testing for Lyme and Candidiasis is really hard. What tests should I ask for? E in Missouri > > Hello, > > I have lupus and have been on low dose naltrexone since March of 2008. It is a God send. Feel free to email me off list if you like, but my symptoms were similar to yours, but it was from a flare, not medication. I'd grow confused, forget conversations I had five minutes before, was in horrible pain all the time, dizzy, and standing or sitting for more than 20 minutes put me in bed with exhaustion. Plus the other lupus symptoms...arthritis, rashes, etc. Now when I get super stressed I just get a little tired and mild arthritis pain. My mental awareness is good, I can remember stuff again, I'm no longer confused, and I'm able to do things I never thought I would again. I even started yoga, belly dancing, and can work full time and manage errands after work. It is completely worth a try, and the sooner you start, the sooner you know whether this will work for you. > > I did have an immediate jump in energy, but I have to caution you to go very slow. I wanted to do all of the things I hadn't had the energy to do for a year in a couple hours, and I paid for it. You need to allow your body to heal, and even if you feel great, you may feel flu like in the evenings if you become too active too fast. Also, I would highly recommend testing for infections like Lymes and Candida overgrowth. Both of these will severely decrease the ability of the drug to manage your symptoms. I learned these things the hard way and would like to spare others. I still feel blessed to have access to this medication and a supportive doctor. > > Please take care, > > Cami > Systemic Lupus Erythematosus, IBD, interstitial cystitis, etc. >
Guest guest
Igenex is considered one of the best for Lymes. Diagnos-techs has an affordable G.I. panel that covers Candida (both spit and fecal screens are done). Panel A costs about $175 without insurance, which is very reasonable considering all of the bacteria and parasites the test covers.
