Request for Free ART Base Line Test at BHU Varanasi

Dear forum,

Regarding the free Base Line Test at Varanasi B.H.U ART Centre

There is Base Line Test fee are taken by the PLHIV person’s.

The B.H.U. ART Centre play a role for purvanchal but also it play a role for the

other state like Bihar. This also provide the same type of services to other

state PLHAS.

It is a very important clue since Varanasi is one of the big city which have a

more population by which a lot of workload is imposed or more burden is imposed

on the ART Centre.

Besides all these some PLHIV person’s are living below poverty line , and also

belong to a lower class. They are financially weak. And also they can not afford

the traveling charges. The situation create that her/his treatment is delay and

lots of Opportunistic Infection are attack them.

And also some physically problems are raised. The PLHIV people who are not

capable to get test due to lack of money who is put into trouble.

In U.P. some medical colleges has no charges taken to the Base Line Test. But in

B.H.U have no facilities for this. Since PLHIV who is in belong to purvanchal

and other state also they are came to their treatment. If the Base Line Test

facilities are provided without any fee some PLHIV who are not getting the Base

Line Test they are take this.

We are requested to NACO for free inquiry of Base Line Test in B.H.U.

We had a discussion on this during inauguration of ART CCC coordination meeting

held at IMS, BHU on 21st May 2009.The director of the institute had promised to

make these free for all PLHAs.

We are taking up this matter with the institute for needful action at the

earliest
