Guest guest
That's a very fair question .. not a silly one at all :-) My daughter applies it to her upper thigh area, but anywhere is fine - just as long as you apply it to an area without hair - that's what we were told. [low dose naltrexone] help in starting LDN for colitis Hello, My 17yr son has an appt with our holistic MD tomorrow. The doctor is familiar with LDN and I believe is willing to prescribe it for Mark. We have delayed starting LDN because Mark has been on Remicade since April, and Skip's Pharmacy had said you need to wait 50 days since prior infusion before starting LDN. Well, we are at that point and have decided to delay the next Remicade infusion by at least a month (hopefully for good if all goes well.) I know the advice for IBD patients is to use the cream form of LDN, and I believe Skip's and Coastal Compounding are two recommended labs that are familiar with the cream form. Is there anything I need to make sure our doctor knows about the cream prescription, or should he be able to just work through Skip's/Coastal and everything will fall in place? Does the dispensing of the cream come in a way that lets you start with smaller amounts than the 4.5mg? How is the cream dose measured? Is it recommended to start with low doses with the cream form? Also, my son has issues with low testosterone/DHEA from having been on prednisone. The holistic MD tried giving him DHEA earlier, but it did not bring the levels up. He is also considering trying cortisol. Are there any issues with either cortisol or the low adrenal system (I think that's how you'd sum it up) in starting LDN? Any other advice is most appreciated! Looking forward to having wonderful LDN story to share soon! Sally
