Guest guest
Hi joe setting up a chat room on your site might be a good idea with different rooms ... only you cant realy have a cancer room and ms room etc but i think it would help a bit. It might get more people more involved john john > > It would be amazing if I could find someone who's been helped by LDN. > They charge 2.5K per month and it's going to be hard for me to raise > that. But I really need one badly beginning in a month or so. Guest guest
Thanks .... My site is built on a Wordpress base. I don't think a chat room is a possibility they offer, but I'll look into it. Guest guest
Joe, have you thought about sending your story to magazines? Readers Digest etc type. They like these personal stories and this may well be a starting point? Celia
Guest guest
An excellent suggestion. Do you know how to do that? Joe > > Joe, have you thought about sending your story to magazines? Guest guest
Joe, Email your story to - excerpts@... with the title - My Story.... They pay for these stories so check re copyright...... If you are married or have a lady friend, get a bunch of magazines, especially those that like real life stories.......e.g Chat, Bella, Real life etc, not Cosmo or such as these are more into fashion..... You might remember Debbie Purdy who fought for the right to die in Switzerland, she was afraid her husband would get prosecuted if he took her there. I phoned her to tell her about LDN but I don't think she wanted to know. My point is, she was in nearly every woman's magazine going - as well as the news etc. If you make a noise make it a big one, don't expect anything to come back quickly, but make your story appealing, backed with fact and of course our anecdotes, grab the heart!!! Guest guest
Celia... Do I send a chapter? The whole book? Do I need to write an article too? If anyone knows anybody who works at these magazines, maybe they could suggest they contact me. It's always better to be recommended by someone else than to come in blowing your own horn. Guest guest
Joe, no one will blow your horn but you!! You have to be very convincing, you only write an outline, two or three pages, not every detail, an article of your own story of how you became ill and what you did about it and how you think LDN or whatever helped you, and how you cannot understand why a drug so cheap is so overlooked........... Get a lady friend to get you a few magazines....... Celia
Guest guest
Joe, I have written a book, far removed from this subject I might add! What we did was to do all of the page formatting ourselves, and since my book had illustrations it was no easy task, but if you are sticking to text only you could almost do a short run yourself if you have a good printer. Thereafter you could get a price for binding, or, get one of those ring binders and do it yourself. For a run of say 150 at a time this could be doable. You could ask for sponsors if you want a binding, you could offer a free copy of the book to all who donate say $15 or whatever............. Just thoughts here.....
