Guest guest
I had the same thing happen during an operation back in 1995. I had the big red wrist band with the allergies listed right on it. Only thing was that at the time we didn't realize what Toradol was and nobody told us. So we just thought that I had a severe reaction to a drug. A few weeks later I was talking to a friend who is a dentist and he informed me that Toradol is an NSAID and that they should have known not to give it to me. I was so mad that the hospital never told me anything! Though it explained why the person who gave it to me never came back to my room again. Since that time we ask about every drug I get. The nurses get annoyed but oh well. Rob Re: Lori > > > Lori...I am not a " suer " by nature. I did ask an attorney if I had > any recourse because my family was pushing it...they were mad! Guest guest
Jodi, Since Vioxx worked for you have you tried Celebrex? They are along the similar lines pharmacalogically. Actually, Vioxx and Bextra were pretty good drugs with fewer GI side effects. It is too bad they were taken off the market. The main reason some people had trouble was doctors over prescribing them without considering cardiovascular health. The warnings were in the literature. I used to take Vioxx and then Celebrex starting a day or two before going to play golf, and was much looser and pain free - could swing easier it seemed. It's a NSAID.I cannot take any oral NSAID's whatsoever. The only thing that hasrelieved my pain over the years (besides VIOXX- crazy irony I know)was Toradol injections.I have not needed to use this in a long time but with the bad B12 shotit started a chain reaction of flaring sacroilitis (which I have nothad this bad in YEARS) and has aggravated a disc as well. Today wasmuch better but yesterday was bad after having a good day- I just wantto be prepared if it takes a turn for the worst. Doctor's office saidthey would carry it for me.http://www.mayoclin ic.com/health/ drug-information /DR601483Jodi
Guest guest
Hi , Celebrex makes me violently ill so did Bextra. Only tolerable ones were Vioxx (that I could take daily) and a shot of Toradol here and there. Anyway, thanks for thinking about suggestions for me. Much appreciated!
