Thanks Barb,

I had sent away for Candida Yeast info and knew it could cause so many

symptoms we attribute to LD. But I stopped my abx's, going on two months

now, and have been diligently working on my yeast problem. Taking Diflucan,

Nystatin, Acidophilus, eating yogurt, low carb diet. Still can't get rid of

it, but it is better.

I have to start back on abx's next month - waiting as long as I can to get

rid of the yeast. I have horrible thrush. So thanks for this info, now I can

give this infor to my doctor - I've been telling him all along that I

thought most of my IBS symptoms were due to Yeast.

I have a question for you; do you know why Dr. Burrascano recommends " Plain

Yogurt " , I compared the carbs and sugar contents of the plain yogurt with

light fruit yogurts, and in most cases the Plain yogurt had more of both -

carbs and sugar. The only thing I can think of is that the fruit yogurt has

fructose and the Plain must have a different type of sugar. Do you know if

that's the case? I tried plain and just cannot eat it, I thought of putting

my liquid saccharin in it, any suggestions on how to eat this awful stuff?

Thanks again,

Vicki, Md

I have not researched the references that are cited at the end of this

article, (I did not include them. They are at the site.) We know this

is a major problem with our antibiotic treatment of LD., but I never

really paid much attention to the fact that the Candidia could be

causing some of the symptoms that we attribute to LD.

have ya tried any cleansing programs with all the herbies? or How about Pau

D'Arco, garlic, Gentian, etc??? There are tons of herbal combos at the HFS.

I can't do it alone. I have to do the herbals, antifungals, and strict low

carb. I mean..BASIC diet, like steamed veggies and meat..thats it. I do

that for a couple weeks then gradually add on to the diet and see how I

react.

Or how about switching back and forth from the Diflucan, then go to Nizoril

or Sporanox? I've read that the yeast can become resistant so some people

alternate.

Hi {{{Vicki}}}

I have just started taking Nystatin, almost 2 weeks now, but don't feel any

different. I have cut out the sugar and cut down on the carbs. I LOVE MY

CARBS : ( and its soooo hard for me to give them up, I have taken Diflucan

in the past and it worked well in the beginning , but then for some reason ,

it just stopped working. I have never used them together, can you tell me

what doses your taking on each ?

I am thinking abt trying them together, maybe that will be more effective.

Also, did you know that you can get a Nystatin Liquid for the thrush? Yo

I'd been using a product called Yeast Cleanse for a while, after a

raging yeast infection developed while on Ceftin+Doryx.

I switched to Oregamax, and feel it's been doing a much better job

than the Yeast Cleanse had done (it also contains garlic). I was

told to get the brand by North American Spice & Herb Co., so I did.

Also, I've been using bromelain for inflammation - I think the info

on it at www.gnc.com says it's good for sinusitis, too.

Mine looked like little cotton balls attached to the outside of the stool.

Or sometimes it looks like a mucusy white or yellow sheath around the stool.

What product are you taking, the protease/cellulase supplement? What is it

called?

I think those IV fluids generally contain dextrose, so in that case, no.

Dextrose is a form of sugar.

It is my understandding that in that ccase you would also have a

feeding tube and they would give you formula with alsorts of nasties in

it. AND they would not be giving you the supplements you needed to

healing.

My husband and I were talking about IV's a while back and we could not

figure out if IV fluids get to your liver and are processed. And/or

do they get to your digestive system?

Hi all,

My mother (lupus) just took her first dose of LDN, 3 mg, last night, and

reported that she was

able to get up and walk to the bathroom this morning without leaning on the

furniture at all!

A first for a very long time.

I have a question - she has a tendency toward yeast overgrowth. I recall reading

here that

this can effect ldn effectiveness, but in my search on this site I'm not getting

a clear answer

as to what she should look for.

Is is simply lack of effectiveness? Or exacerbation of symptoms? Other? Advice I

should give

her, knowing she has this tendency?

Thanks!

Durga

It was my experience that I did feel flu like until I started treating

the Candida. I also have lupus and while the energy improved right

away, I did have joint pains and flu like symptoms in the evening.

Tell her to take it very easy the first few weeks. I know it feels

fabulous to finally get that energy back, but her body isn't repairing

as fast as the energy is coming back and it is important to take it slow.

Things went much better when I took it easier and gave myself time to

ramp up activities. I also improved all around a lot faster once I

started treating the Candida. I get tiny mini-flares (some petichial

rashes and slight fatigue for a couple days), but it's not

debilitating like it used to be.

Yes, I've found that if I'm not treating the Candida, I have flu like

symptoms. I ran out of Nystatin and am currently " Sick " although I'm

not sure if it's because the yeast growth is back or if I was exposed

to something (I'm betting on Candida).

If I were you I would get tested. Others have found a positive Lyme

test with those symptoms as well (although that wasn't the case for me).

right away I seem to feel worse. I also noticed that if I eat something that

has sugar in it my symptoms seem to lessen all though I still feel pretty bad.

+++Hi Theo. The reason you feel better is because your body still hasn't

switched over to running on high good fats, rather than running on

glucose/sugars, so the carbs are probably alleviating blood sugar increases. It

takes at least 4 months on high enough fats and low enough carbs to switch over.

+++So ensure you are calculating your protein to fat to carb ratios and entering

your foods into www.fitday.com - see this article:

http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/foods8.php

**** Also I have Celiac Disease and I read that the Candida fungus protein is

very similar to the protein gluten and continues to cause an auto immune

response. Is this true?

+++You will continue to get celiac symptoms until your body has completely

" retraced " all previous symptoms you had - see this article:

http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/heal10.php

All the best, Bee
