In his door to door campaign, Dr. Tejaswi who is known for his dedication to the cause of HIV/AIDS, visited Gashiyari Gali, Gurhatta, Paschim Darwaja, and Diwan Mohalla seeking support from the voters. President of Patna Network of People Living with HIV AIDS, Dr. Shankarnath, President Rotary Pataliputra, Youth Leader Manish Kumar, Dr. Sanjay Kumar, and Dr. Mrs. Dipika Tejaswi accompanied him during his election campaign. In a direct appeal to the people of Patna, Dr. Tejaswi urged voters to cast their valuable votes in favor of him saying the problems related with Bihar could be understood better by the locals who had to deal with the problems on a daily basis. Urging youths to come out in large numbers in his support, he also stressed upon local issues like health and hygiene, traffic nightmare, drinking water supply and power problem and how he plans to solve them. " India has suffered enough in the hands of corrupt and criminal politicians. Yet, election after election, the people of India continue to choose the same corrupt and criminal people who were too busy stashing their money in the Swiss banks to even think about their constituents, " Dr. Tejaswi said in a letter sent to PatnaDaily.Com. The son of noted physicians Dr. K. K. Sharan and Dr. Kiran Sharan, Dr. Tejaswi is a gold-medalist with laurels to his credit that could put any career politician to a shame. Promoting the idea of " I am one of you " , Dr. Tejaswi faces stiff competition from the two star candidates – Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Shatrughan Sinha and Congress candidate Shekhar Suman - and RJD candidate Vijay Sahu. http://www.patnadaily.com/news2009/apr/041809/doctor_seeks_support.html
