Guest guest
Does anyone else on this list suffer from aquagenic pruritis? For those of you who have never heard of it, this is an intense itching problem that comes on after contact with water. It's quite rare, but the group for this disorder has over 800 people on it, so it's definitely out there. Affected individuals have difficulty showering, swimming etc. because they start to itch really badly and it usually lasts for an hour or so. There's no rash, no hives, no outward sign that anything is wrong. It's agonizing and can really mess up your life. The reason I'm asking is that I've had it off and on over the years, and it's been much better - almost gone, in fact - since I went on LDN a year ago for my RA. I have since unearthed an article about Naltrexone in higher doses being used for this condition successfully. The sample size is small on that study because the condition is so rare, and it occurred to me that this LDN group has a lot of subscribers and we might be able to see if anyone else is getting relief from LDN. The researchers may not have thought to try such low doses, and if there are enough of us who have been helped, perhaps we can get them interested in pursuing it.
