Dr's and Prescribing LDN.....

I now know how everyone feels that has a hard time getting a Dr to prescribe them LDN. I have been taking LDN for over 3 years now and up until now I have not had any problems with any of the Neurologists in Florida, Georgia and Maine prescribing LDN to me and saw how good I was doing on LDN and didn't want me to change anything I have been taking. The last Neuro in GA I was seeing I taught all about LDN and she started prescribing it to other people and not just for MS. Thats an open minded Dr and willing to see their patients get better.

I am the one that keeps the LDN Dr list but all the Dr's I have on my list for TN which is where I recently moved too is 2-3 hours away and there is so far only 4 on my list for TN. Here in TN the Neurologists require you to go to your GP to get a refferal before they will except you as a patient so I did all that and went to my appointment to the Neurologist the end of last week. Well you know what they say about first impressions? I got a really bad feeling from him. He asked what I had been on and I told him the first 8 months after being diagnosed I was on Betaseron and it made me feel really bad and I ended up with a Cellulitis infection in my right upper thigh from the injections which put me in bed for 3 months then I ended up in a powerchair. I even brought copies of all my MRI reports.

I told him how I was and he saw and did an exam and said how good I was doing. He had never heard of LDN but I brought in information for him and he said he would look at it then call me back before he would prescribe it. Then he wanted to take me off my Klonopin and put me on the Primidone which I researched and found out the Primidone would of Cancelled out All my other medications.

So he calls yesterday and wanted to take me off All the medications I am on now including the LDN and take the Primidone and go back on Betaseron that put me in a wheelchair then a powerchair and I told him right where to go and he needed to be more openminded. He was a total you know what and wanted me to do what he wanted and didn't care about my health so I FIRED HIM and now looking for another Neurologist.

What gets me is the Primidone is an Off Label drug and he didn't hesitate to prescribe that but he didn't want to prescribe LDN because there wasn't enough studies or proof for him. Well Look at me I Am Proof because I've been on LDN now for over 3 years and he said how good I was doing so what other proof should he need....???
