Eddie here is a short desctiption of both.

Spasticity is a condition in which certain muscles are continuously

contracted. This contraction causes stiffness or tightness of the

muscles and may interfere with movement, speech, and manner of

walking.

A spasm is a sudden, involuntary contraction of a muscle, a group of

muscles.

Hope this helps.

Spasms are the episodes of muscle tightening, sometimes painful. In contrast, spasticity is the more chronic state of too much muscle tone. They are both part of the same spectrum of excessive muscle tone in a person with a problem affecting the central nervous system, like MS.

I have read on the LDN site that spasticity improves with LDN and to maintain 3mg if you have spasms. Can someone please explain the difference between the 2 conditions please??? my understanding is that both conditions are more or less the same with spasms being an extreme condition of spasticity!! !thanks for feedback.Eddie

For me spastic is feeling stiff. Magnesium and stretching helps a bit.

Spasms are involuntary twitches, tremors, restless leg syndrome.

Sometimes 4-AP helps with this or an epsom salt bath.
