Time of day for LDN

I know this subject has been mentioned before but I need some feedback

now. I started LDN last June in hopes of preventing colds, etc. which

trigger my asthma. And so far I have been successful. I tried all doses

from 1.5 to 4.5 and settled on 4 mg. taken at bedtime. Still I am

having sleep disturbances and feeling very hot during the night. Before

reverting to 3.5 mg. I am experimenting with taking LDN in the morning.

So far, I am sleeping well. I know some of you are taking LDN in the

morning. What is the reason for taking it at night? If it doesn't make

any difference, should it be taken on an empty stomach or can it be

taken at mealtime?

If nighttime works best, then I'll have to decrease my dosage.

Many thanks,

P Fox

Hi P. Fox

I also experienced excessive sleep disturbance when I first started

LDN -- for 6wks I got by with just a few hours of sleep. So I

switched to day-time dosing. I took my 4.5mg of LDN for 7mos using

day-time dosing and I experienced benefits. My antibodies

dropped...and I did feel the slight boost of energy in the early

afternoons. So - day-time dosing does work.

However, about 6wks ago I switched to night-time dosing. I wanted to

see if after being on LDN for 7mos and having it in my system would

make a difference in being able to take it at night without sleep

disturbance.

I had sleep disturbance for just a few nights despite having taken

almost 10mg of melatonin and a little Benedryl. I'd wake up after a

few hours of sleep and couldn't go back to sleep. It just lasted for

a few nights though. I don't have any problems now and I really don't

need any sleep aid. I do on some nights take 3mg of melatonin if I

want to get some DEEP sleep...but I don't take it every night.

What I like about night-time dosing is that I WAKE up with that

'energy / well-being' feeling...vs getting it later in the day. It

just feels more pronounced I guess because I'm NOT busy doing other

things and I notice it more. ???

Consider trying the day-time dosing for a time and see how you do.

Best wishes,

Jann

Anyone who takes LDN differently from Dr. Bernard Bihari's LDN

protocol are to do so at your own risk. If you want the best chance

at halting your disease progression the Bihari LDN protocol is best

as our normal peak endorphin production takes place from 2am to 4am.

We produce endorphins throughout the day but the most abundant

endorphin production takes place in the pre-dawn hours of 2am to 4am

and having the endorphin blockade take place during these hours is

our best chance at halting our disease progression.

Taking LDN more than once in a 24 hour period can cause your disease

to worsen. Please read the LDN website and study why we take LDN in

the manner we do, once a night.

>>What I like about night-time dosing is that I WAKE up with that'energy / well-being' feeling<<

This is a rather pleasant side effect of the drug. I definitely noticed a difference myself when I first started and would forget a dose. I would wonder why I felt more sluggish certain days, and then realize later in the day I had forgotten to take the LDN.

LDN can be taken on a full or empty stomach. Either way is fine.

Hi p fox,

RE: What is the reason for taking it at night?

The time you take LDN is personal preference -- ie; whatever works for

you. According to LDN researchers there is no difference when you

take LDN...it works the same. Some folks here on this forum disagree

with that because of their personal experience and want to share a

caution. Ultimately, everyone has to figure out on their own what

works for them.

I think sleep quality should be the HIGH PRIORITY. Without good sleep

NOTHING will help heal your immune system and you can't have optimal

health with an ineffective immune system.

Best wishes,

Jann
