Up the Creek with a Paddle Second Edition

Hi Folks!

First, as always I hope that my email finds you well. Second, Up the

Creek will be back on the market in January. Publish America helped

me a lot when I needed help, but I took it off the market and bought

back my rights because they increased the price to 24.95 and to me

that is too much to ask people to pay. I was annoyed, but it turned

out to be a blessing in disguise because I used the opportunity to

update the story and I have to tell you all .. I am very pleased with

the new edition. Special thanks to Dr. Gluck and Dr. Bihari and Dr

Phil Boyle for helping me. Dr. Gluck wrote the foreword, Dr. Bihari

wrote a very special letter and my brother Phil scanned it all for

medical errors. I like it a lot. I am also thankful to Noel for

letting me continue to share his story.

The book got picked up by a few small publishers but I could not

secure a mass publisher. I don't know why because it is a wonderful

story (if I say so myself), but will share that I came darn close. My

issue with small publishers is that the book ends up overpriced. So,

to avoid that I am going self publish the book. I chose Outskirts

Press ... their services cost about a thousand dollars (I needed to

ensure it would be available internationally), but is the only option

that suits my conscience. I will set the final price at 15.95 US

dollars .. it has to be that at least in order to have a shot at

bookstores who take 55% of the profit. To print the book costs about

8 bucks and I think I will end up with about a buck and a quarter per

sale. The best thing I could do is remove my cut ... 14.70 would be

the sale price at cost .. and I have to share I am debating that. If

I cut out all bookstores and kept it internet based, the sale price

could be as low as 7.15 ... I have done the math over and over and

for now I think this way (15.95) works best for everyone. Once I make

it big and acquire some celebrity status .. I will fund the big

trial.
