Vacancy for distance learning coordinator

Christian Medical College, Vellore, Tamil Nadu, invites applications from

suitable candidates for the position of Distance Education Course Coordinator

for two distance education courses: Fellowship in HIV Medicine (FHM) and

Fellowship in Secondary Hospital Medicine (FSHM).

Fellowship in HIV Medicine is a one year post graduate level training for

doctors. It consists of 13 distance learning modules, 6 weeks of contact

courses and 6 months of project work at the candidate's work place. This course

was developed and being run by Christian Medical College, Vellore for the last 6

years.

Fellowship in Secondary hospital medicine is a one year distance learning course

for graduates who are working in community hospitals immediately after their

MBBS. The course consists of contact courses (2 ½ weeks), distance learning (18

modules) and project work.

Qualification required:

a. Post MBBS with FHM or PG degree or diploma in Medicine / STD/ Community

Medicine/ Pediatrics. MBBS candidates may also apply. OR

b. Master's Degree with training in Distance Education such as PG diploma in

Distance Education /Higher education or MA in Distance Education

Job Responsibilities include:

The responsibilities include running the distance learning centre and

coordinating with other regional centers.

For the individual courses the coordinator is involved in charge of the:

Selection of Candidates

Running the distance course

Organizing the contact courses

Supervising project work

Conducting the final examination

Remuneration will be according to the institutional norms.
