AHF India Cares announces the following vacancies for its HIV treatment

intervention in Mumbai.

1)Medical Officer 1 MBBS/MD with minimum 2 years

experience in HIV treatment and care; FHAM Preferable

2)Project Coordinator 1 MSW with minimum 2 years experience in

HIV/AIDS care and support and NGO project management

3)Nurse 1 ANM or GNM or equivalent

qualification; registered with Nursing Council of the state; With minimum one

year hospital or outpatient nursing experience , preferably in HIV treatment

and care

4)Female Counselor 1 MSW/ MA(psych) with at least

2 years counseling experience in HIV/AIDS issues

5) Female Peer Educators 2 Minimum 10+, NGO experience in HIV AIDS

and basic writing and reporting skills ; Members of PLHA community are

encouraged to apply; Earlier experience of conducting outreach is desirable

AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) is the largest provider of HIV/AIDS medical

care in the United States. Founded in 1987, the mission of AHF is " cutting edge

medicine and advocacy, regardless of ability to pay. " AHF specializes in

providing AIDS treatment and care services to socio-economically disadvantaged

HIV/AIDS patients worldwide. AHF operates ART clinics in 20 developing countries

and provides technical assistance in partnership with local NGOs and

governments. AHF's country programs, which currently administer HIV/AIDS medical

care to over 100,000 patients (49,000 of whom are on ART), have afforded AHF

expertise in delivering comprehensive HIV/AIDS care in health care settings that

are at various stages of development and capacity

AHF INDIA CARES

India Cares was established in 2004 with a commitment to form partnerships

between local NGOs and government AIDS control agencies to provide life-saving

ART services to people living with HIV/AIDS (PLHAs). After three years, India

Cares has emerged as an organization known for high quality HIV/AIDS treatment

and care support services and for its role as an advocacy leader – as

demonstrated by its AIDS Activist 2nd Line Treatment and Universal Access

Campaigns. India Cares programs are designed to provide the full range of

HIV/AIDS services for PLHAs. The Center of Excellence (COE) in New Delhi is the

first organization of its kind to serve as a one-stop shop for HIV/AIDS medical

care, including treatment and care, counseling, patient education, and

HIV-related social services. AHF India Cares’ clinic in New Delhi, the Center

of Excellence, opened in October 2006 and offers testing, psycho-social support

and ART services to more than 700 patients, including pediatric treatment. The

goal of the Center is to provide ART services to 2,000 patients over a period of

five years. Leveraging AHF India Cares’ extensive experience in providing

cutting-edge ART and medical care at its clinics in Mysore, the Center of

Excellence has become a point of service for ART delivery and monitoring by

qualified physicians and trained healthcare providers. Already an operator of

Mobile Medical and Testing Clinics in the United States, AHF India Cares saw an

opportunity to adopt this model to one of India's busiest and most developed

cities.
