Guest guest
Some of you might remember I posted about my niece a few months back. She had gotten a cold and then it developed into major yeast (rash/gut) and then she got an ear infection. She is 15 months old. (non vaxed). This time she had caught a cold two weeks ago...which struck me as odd because my kids don't usually get colds in summer. Anyway, right after the cold she got her usual yeast diaper rash and then she got diarrhea and a fever (99-100). This lasted four days, then the fever got higher (101-102) and the rash worse. By this time I had my sister put her on better probiotics (5 billion) and gse. Also added in 500mg of C per day and 1 capsule of echinacea. She got worse yesterday when I went to see her, fussy, fretful..I guessed her ears again. Today she woke from nap and was shaky, weak and won't walk. So I had my sister call the doctor after hours number. They gave her antibiotics, antifungal cream. Said, that she has a yeast rash, ear infection and build up of ear wax in the affected ear...that she may have to use a wash periodically to clear it out. A month ago she got yeasty and I had them give her gse twice a day, and good probiotics twice a day. It went away. But basically, this yeast thing keeps coming back. I myself have ear problems and get ear infections unless I stay on gse all the time and watch my foods. Any ideas? Something we could put her on longer term than gse? I did advise they take her off milk. She does not drink a lot, just one sippy cup in the morning..but still. I think she's got problems with it because after my sister weaned her she developed these dark circles under her eyes that have never left. So to me..those came with the formula..which was cow milk based. Now she drinks organic cow milk once a day. Basically, the baby refuses milks the rest of the day....which tells me it doesn't agree with her. Good thing we taught her to sign..she signs " sick " , " boo-boo head " and says " medicine " . Poor kiddo...
