Dear Forum,

The NGO partners for CCM elections in India has been a completely stage managed

and manipulated activity without any tranparency, accountabiity and at the whims

and fancy of the people behind the scenes including the sub comittee for these

elections and the organisation that was involved in the process including the

CCM secretariat (which is located in NACO office!).

Deliberate tampering of voting, deferment of election dates, nominations,

counting, withholding of results and favouritism to the chosen ones is so

apparent that one could have predicted the results before any voting was done.

This calls for an inquiry by an independent body from GFTAM Geneva. This is a

precedent in CCM India which also had major issues raised even last year.

I think NGOs.CSO should come out in the open who registered and voted.

People winning at less than 5% of the total registered is a sham and we claim to

have a strong CSO movement in our country.

NACO, MOHFW, and other bodies (including UN and bilaterals) have done next to

nothing to engage and empower the so called thousands if not half a million NGOs

working in the field.

This elections needs to be nullied and and inquiry instituted. File an RTI or a

legal case if needed. Talk to media and put it on blogs.

Protest now, speak up now before it is too late and the spirit of civil society

is bought over or muted or killed.

Thanks

Dear Forum,

Sanjeev Kumars mail on the lack of tranparency, accountabiity in the resently

concluded CCM elections raises major issues and strong concerns for Civil

Society in India.

Civil Society representatives need to ask for an explanation on all counts.
