Guest guest
We are on our third round of DMSA and ALA (9 rounds total). I lowered the DMSA dose in this round to 5mg (was 6.5mg) because the last two rounds my son had pains in his fingers and feet and was uncomfortable the whole time. I recently noticed these pains continued to the present date(mainly in his feet), even between rounds. Today was our first day of round 3 after adding DMSA, the 5mg still seemed too high because he was kicking and stomping and uncomfortable most the day. I made more pills this evening and they contain only 2.5mg DMSA along with the 10mg ALA (if need be, that will be lowered next). Andy suggested giving extra Omega 3s and Vit E so we are doing extra Omega 3s but can't do the Vit E unless I give him spoons full of grape seed oil. (he cannot tolerate ANY soy). I will probably be starting massages with the grape seed oil tomorrow. On top of the other usual supps (Vit c, b complex, clo, flax, cal, mag, probiotics) I am giving milk thistle and adrenal cortex twice a day. Because I believe we are removing lead, he is getting a Cal-mag with every meal. He also seems to need salt, so I let him take what he wants. The symptoms of this week that have worsened with the start of the new round are: 1. Saying " ow " often. 2. bothered by how his feet feel - stomping, kicking, jumping. 3. jumping onto knees on carpet (only happens on round) 4. hands - pounding fists on mom (only happens on round) 5. less tolerant of disapproving looks/comments 6. fights often with brother/annoys purposely/is annoyed easily 7. more sensory symptoms - covering ears/noise sensitivity/scared of loud noises 8. walks far behind brother, mom, and dad when we are out/slow to come when called/extra stubborn/unmotivated 9. blows in brother's/mom's face (only happens on round) 10. prefers tasks such as putting coins in a jar that take his concentration from the discomfort he is feeling. 11. decreased awareness of safety/increase of self-harm behavior Hopefully we can reach a cruising level during this round just to get through. I don't want to stress his little body too much, but I want the metals to keep moving out of him. I think after this round we need to take a longer break.
