Guest guest
Dear Fourm, In recent days many of the states have completed their parlimentary elections and in some of the states they have completed their state legislatory elections too. As we all aware that in India 2.5 million people are living with HIV/AIDS this may increase and due to this lot of social and economical impacts will be the reality in near future. But still this 2.5 million population dont have any social security schemes like Life Insurence Policy for them and for their dependents. Many years we are talking about life insurence for the poeple who are in need but no insurence company has come forward to initiate any such life insurence policies but very few organisations are providing health insurence only. During this election scenario why dont we who are working in the HIV/AIDS and PLHAs field as NGOs, CBOs, FBOs create a mass action movement to make awareness of our policians to announce in their party manifesto or atleast their election promise about Life Insurance Policy for our PLHAs community. Since all the future MPs atleast aware about the issue and make it as policy to bring or pass a bill in the forth coming Parliment session. So I request all our forum members to pass it to the mass and create a possible change. This effort may be delayed one but not defeated one so let us try out. Note: PCI has developed a new life insurance schemes for the PLHAs at its Salem District in Tamil Nadu it is a collaborative efforts taken by CARE/India and PCI/India, Salem. It is well received by our PLHAs as it is a pilot phase and it has very good response from PLHAs at remaining Tamil Nadu. If any one wants to know about this scheme kindly visit our website www.pciindia.org.
