?'s After First Round of DMSA

We completed our first round of DMSA with our son at 1/8 mg per lb

every four hours about 8 days ago. The round itself went fine, other

than fighting with our son to take the smelly stuff.

A few days after the end of the round, we noticed increased language

and his first three to four word sentences ever. Yeah! His teacher

even noticed that he is " expressing his needs more. "

However, we have a few questions. Do we continue the minerals at a

higher rate between rounds as well (elevated mag, c and zinc etc)? A

day or two after the end of the round, our son had a very loose bowel

at school. So we decreased the vitamin C and magnesium we were giving

him. However, now he only goes every other day or so. When he does

go, the stools are almost normal and formed, the first normal ones of

his life! Not constipated hard stools. But it is not good for him

not to go. He also refuses to eat on those days, presumably because

he feels full.

We have continued yeast fighting measures during and after the round

as well. Is this type of bowel problem typical? What could be

causing it? What should we do about it? I guess we are learning that

the effects of the chelator are really seen in the days following the

round for our son, rather than during the round. Hard for us to

realize this.

Would appreciate any help. I may have sent this message already, not

sure if I hit send or not, so if this is a repost, sorry about that.

Thanks. Irene
