Here are things I do for my adrenals: Sea salt Wild Yam Extract Lysine I sometimes take a product called " Plus " from Mannatech Eat yams or sweet potatoes. Supposedly sweet potatoes don't do the same thing but I suspect they have some effect. Coconut oil for thyroid support because when the adrenals are stressed too long, the thyroid gets fatigued and also needs support. Guest guest
Why do you suspect that you are allergic to Iodine? Guest guest
> > Why do you suspect that you are allergic to Iodine? When I was really sick nearly 8 years ago and they were still trying to find out what was wrong with me, I had two contrast dye CAT scans. They asked me beforehand if I was allergic to sea food (or something like that). I told them I nearly hurled the two times I tried crab but was not aware of an allergy per se. After the CAT scans, I began vomitting any time I had shrimp. The first few times it happened, I didn't make the connection because I was so ill generally. I just thought it was food poisoning or a stomach bug or something. Then I started a chemistry class and at the first wet lab, I had a bad allergic reaction to the chemicals we used and ended up in the ER and bedridden for a week and had to drop the class. That was around September-October and in December, I ate one piece of shrimp off my husband's plate at a restaurant and spent the next week in bed feeling like I had been beaten with a baseball bat. Somewhere in there, a friend told me that they most likely used iodine for the dye in the CAT scans and that shell fish is high in iodine and this was the most likely connection. I have never been real fond of fish or sea food but used to eat catfish sometimes and occasionally shrimp. After spending a week in bed from eating a single piece of shrimp, the smell of sea food made me gag for at least a year and I would start getting hives if I were in the same room with shrimp being cooked. I can now eat fish once in a great while in small quantities. I still can't eat shrimp. Guest guest
Ours doesn't appear to. We use Molecular Biologics Adrenal 180. Has a bit of vitamin E and adrenal cortex, nothing else. > > Does anyone know if all brands of adrenal cortex have iodine in it? I > think my dd is allergic to Iodine. Guest guest
I don't know of a liquid form. We use caps. You can dump half the cap into an empty cap to divide the dose if you want. Guest guest
I gave my dd a teeny bit of the ACE yesterday. (1/8th capsule) and today the same thing. She seems like she is picking up speed and getting hyper. Does this happen at the beginning?
Guest guest
, Check the archives. There are a number of people who have reported reactions to ACE when using it the first few times. I don't know why exactly but it was the case here for my daughter who reacted very strangely, got silly and had odd behaviour the first few times I gave her ACE at low doses. It was suggested in this forum at the time that the ACE may have caused a dump of thyroid hormones, which in turn can lead to symptoms of anxiety. I was told to stay low & increase only when symptoms abated. I think I gave it to her 4 or 5 times and then I stopped because I had enough to deal with at the time ;-) But when I tried again a few weeks later, there were no reactions at all. Guest guest
Jan thanks for sharing your ACE info over and over. I got it, tried it, and haven't had a panic attack since. It has made a huge difference in my fatigue level, as well. Going to start a trial on my son in a few days (didn't want to intro a new supp on round). > > Adrenal cortex (Nutricology) a glandular to help support adrenal function in those who have adrenal problems. For his age/weight you can begin at 1/4 capsule and work up slowly if he needs more. Give it in the morning. It does not have any kind of taste that we noticed so I open the caps and sprinkle it on my son's morning oatmeal. You should notice rather quickly that it helps him to be calmer, or less sensitive and irritable. If after a while you notice it does not seem to be helping anymore, then it is time to add more by doing a lunchtime dose. Some end up needing to take this 3 times a day, Say with breakfast, lunch and then at 3pm. It can keep some people awake so you don't want to give it later than 4pm. > The dose he ends up needing with vary. Some need just that 1/4 cap a day and that's it. Some kids need 1-2 caps a day, some more. My son is 52 pounds, age six and he does well with 1/4 cap a day. If he is on rounds or gets sick, we do give more though. > > This stuff has been really wonderful for us, it has really helped myself and both my kids. > > > Best Wishes, > Jan M > > http://www.freewebs.com/mercurybabies/ > recoveryfromautism/ > > http://sites.google.com/site/mercurybabies/ > http://groups.google.com/group/autism treatment-extension?lnk=srg > > Order from www.Iherb.Com and Save$5.00 off > your first order using this code: JAN758 > > > > > >
