[ ] Chelation Side Effects

During some rounds she is complaining of not feeling well all over

and points to an area on her forehead that hurts. On Monday after we

end the round she looses her abilities and gets frusterated.

===>Hi Melinda,

We didn't have the ability loss or the complaints about not feeling well, but

we did have headached complaint, specifically in the area of the right frontal

lobe, as well as some other side effects. We had done over twice as many rounds

and we did have to lower the Ala, significantly, we were up to 25 mgs of Ala and

we tried, 20 mgs and then just 12 mgs, which was adequate to keep going and not

get the complaints/side effects.

My first thought is to drop the amount of ALA given.

===>Yes, good instincts.

It surprises me

that we would need to drop the amount given after 44 rounds of ALA

but these side effects are happening only on round and Mondays.

===>I don't know why this happens, I was also surprised. We also tried

tightening up the dosage schedule but like you found this did not help, only

lowering the dose helped. *Could* be they tap into a puddle of mercury, no idea

if this is anything but speculative, but one of the signs that they are done is

that there are no reactions to the chelators, at pretty high doses.

We were able to creep back up with the Ala, but it was quite a while

later.===>

Any advice as to how to safely share this with her teacher? Public

thought we were nuts because we wanted them to give her enzymes. I

have shared with the teacher Jacquelyn McCandless's book, Children

with Starving Brains and have informed the teacher that she is on a

timed medicine only on the weekend and Mondays she may not be feeling

as well.

===I think you phrased this beautifully and I don't think any more explanation

is warranted. I don't tell the school anything more than they need to know and

you have. All that is needed on the school's part is a little extra

consideration, understandable as they are only 6 0r 7.====>

Today she had a meltdown after not being able to do her work

and I am feeling mommy guilt. She is a child that wants to please and

is in a typical first grade classroom in a private school.

===>Yes, all first graders are very " perfectionistic " , goes with the

territory. Try reducing the Ala until she is comfortable and ask the school for

some " trial " time to get the amount right. They should be accomodating without

any extra information.

Thanks for being there. Melinda

Thanks, would 5mg be a good place to try dropping down to, or should

we cut in half? Feeling much better. Melinda
