I used ALA and it did tend to reduce the levels of certain minerals.

I just supplemented those minerals and things were fine.

Proper chelation on Cutler protocol is going to lower bad metals and

providing supplements to keep his minerals up.

But dmsa and ala should not lower minerals to any significance. So it

would depend on how your were chelating him and what was being used.

Most chelation doctors use IV chelation, so be cautious if you choose

to see this physician.

The one doctor check his metals like zinc, and other vitamins and

minerals and said that Riley was low in a few areas (like Zinc). She

told me to stop and wanted me to wait to Chelated any further until I

could get my son into see Dr. Sult near St. Cloud. I was using ALA and

DMSA every 3 hours in day and 4 hours at night just Friday-Monday every

other weekend. I have recently stopped and will continue once we get

into the doctor in October. I will be sure to tell this chelation

doctor that the only protocol that I want to do is the Cutler

protocol. I will get my way. This doctor is not a DAN doctor but is a

functional medicine doctor. I heard he is good at least at listening

to patients and usually will do with what the patient/parents want.

If he's not good at listening and doing what you want, then continue

chelating safely and supplementing minerals. My son was low in zinc

before he ever began chelation, we have been giving him 50mg of zinc

every day for two and half years...his hair says he's still low. It

really means nothing. More than half the people on this earth are

probably low in minerals. Just supplement minerals according to Andy's

list for chelation, they are dosed by weight.

At times we had to give my son his weight plus 20mg of zinc. Low zinc

is not a reason to stop chelation.

From what you describe it sounds like you were using Andy's protocol

properly.

I don't know what test your doctor used to check minerals. But kids

with heavy metal toxicity and adults too, will continue to be

deficient in minerals until you remove the heavy metals.

Personally, I think this doctor is wrong. But that's just me. Heck,

I've been deficient for years and I wasn't even chelating. My

daughter has a serious Vitamin D deficiency that is now

corrected..chelation had nothing to do with that. Her bad thyroid did.

It just makes good sense to continue progress and supplement all the

while.

Don't be surprised if this doctor totally dismisses Cutler's protocol

or says he's never heard of it. I honestly hope he turns out to be

good for you, but my experience with so many doctors is that's not

usually how it goes.
