Head HIV/AIDS and Health Education

Aide et Action (AeA) is an international development organization headquartered

in Geneva and working in 20 countries across the globe. Since 1981, Aide et

Action works on ensuring meaningful education for all, especially the

disadvantaged and marginalized and addresses the inadequacies of the education

system.

Presently Aide et Action is working in 20 Countries across Africa, Caribbean,

Europe, South Asia and South East Asia. In India AeA is having seven regional

offices in Chennai, Hyderabad, Delhi, Jaipur, Bhopal, Guwahati and Ranchi. AeA

works with a vision of " a world where dignity is ensured for all men, women and

children through education-the lever of human development. "

AeA is looking for the following position with immediate posting:

Job Title – Head HIV/AIDS and Health Education

Based at – Either at Bhopal / Delhi / Hyderabad / Jaipur

Roles and Responsibilities

1. Review of the existing programs and policies and compile all information and

resources as necessary for HIV/AIDS mainstreaming program and also Integrate

issues concerning health and HIV awareness, prevention and human rights

perspective

2. Develop a HIV strategy to be incorporated in the national response of HIV,

Provide overall strategic management, supervision and oversight to the HIV

Prevention projects of Aide et Action

3. Manage and motivate the HIV/AIDS sector staff, ensuring that staff have clear

objectives and receive meaningful feedback on their performance

4. Oversee the development of proposals and monitoring of HIV programmes in

various regions; ensure compliance with grant management regulations of donors

and Government, facilitate donor permission where necessary and support Regional

Managers in better implementation

5. Develop and implement capacity building plans for staff and partners in close

collaboration with Regional Managers and connect them with international and

national trainings, information, networks and other resources for capacity

development, networking, program enhancement.

6. Provide overall management, supervision and onsite support to additional

on-going projects as assigned

7. Develop and maintain constructive and strategic relationships and ensure

effective advocacy and communication with government, local NGOs, INGOs and

program beneficiaries.

Qualification and Experience:

Master's degree in social or health science or doctoral degree or equivalent

• Minimum of ten years of experience in managing, developing and implementing

Health and HIV/AIDS program with focus on Gender and HIV at the national or

state level

• Experienced in working with government departments for managing programmes and

providing technical support

• Strong training, monitoring, advocacy and research experience will be

essential.

• Networking skills and experience of interacting and working with the women's

machinery at the national and regional level will be desirable

• Excellent communication and computer skills

• Highly motivated with ability to work independently and skilled in

multi-tasking
