Guest guest
Kohima | October 5 : Approximately 80 % of women living with HIV & AIDS in Nagaland come from families living below the poverty line. " Many of these women are too poor to even afford one square meal a day which is vital for them to gain energy to withstand the strong effects of their medications, " according to the department of Women Development. To ensure adequate nutritional intake of these women, the department said it has introduced the Nutritional Support to Women living with HIV and AIDS, programme. The programme would initially cover 500 HIV/AIDS women clients from all over the state, the department said. They will be provided with a package of foodstuffs which would cover their daily nutritional needs. The package consists of rice, dal and vegetable ghee which will be made available through the NNP+ and their district level networks, the department said. http://www.morungexpress.com/frontpage/34618.html
