What can a regular MD do for us at this point?

Well, I've been on here talking about seeing a DAN Dr. and recently

(like many others these days) we have come across even harder

financial times, and I had to cancel our appt. with a DAN Dr. last

week :( I wasn't too keen on seeing this one due to bad feedback, but

I at least wanted to get some testing done. I am now on a waiting list

for Dr. O'hara in CT (whom I've heard only great things about)and I

hope by the time she is able to see us, we'll be able to afford it.

Son has been casein free for about a month; stools have still been

erratic (constipation, diarrhea, back and forth). He is still burping

a lot, and having lots of stinky gas, and lately, more diarrhea than

usual (hard to tell if there could be a virus going on

contributing...) Anyhow, I have been reading up and preparing to go

gluten free, but I'm not sure if that will be enough - seeing how so

many kids have other allergies as well (he is off of soy also). So,

what I am wondering at this point, is, if I go to our regular MD, what

do you think they will test for (and therefore be covered by an HMO)?

I think most likely they will do the food allergy (IGg); do you think

they would test for yeast also? What else? Do you think she'll send us

to a gastroenterologist - if so, what will they do? Do they prescribe

Diflucan? I just want to go in and make sure I can get them to do as

much as possible. Thanks.
