Guest guest
Now my son has a body rash due to the die-off. What should I do now? I cut his prescription (Difflucan) in half this morning (100 mg) but his skin is a mess. He has eruptions on his wrists, the back of his knees, on his arms, legs and torso. And his face cheeks are flame red. Any thoughts? Epsom salt baths maybe? I am reluctant to do this because we are still struggling to firm up his stool. Have been fighting with diarrhea (due to constipation initially) for over a month. I have started digestive enzymes and have been doing a SCD (mainly) and his diarrhea is improving so I do not want to jepordize that progress. I am concerned that he does not look well and we are seeing behavioral symptoms as well. > What is the actual dose that everyone is using when talking about one drop > or tablet of GSE? Guest guest
I'm not sure if this would help but when my guy gets rashy from die off, I put him in a sitz bath (ie: warm water with baking soda in it) it seems to calm his skin. I don't use any wipes for cleaning him up (ie diaper area, no idea how old your son is) just washcloths with water, then into the laundry. I would really push him to drink lots of water, I would give 1/2 cap activated charcoal in pear juice 2hrs away from any other supps, cool washcloths on his cheeks, check for fever, no tylenol!!! Watch him closely..best of luck, Alison -------------- Original message ---------------------- From: Alyssa Davi <johnalyssa43@...> > Now my son has a body rash due to the die-off. Guest guest
Thanks for your reply. Several people have cautioned me recently about giving Tylenol. What is the concern? > > > What is the actual dose that everyone is using when talking about one drop > > or tablet of GSE? I have seen different dosages of tablets. Mine are 250 > > mg tablets. Guest guest
We use epsom salt baths to aid detox. I don't think they're good for the skin. For skin problems, we put baking soda in the bath water. Helps with itchiness. When he gets out of the bath, let him air dry. For our 4 yr old we would use half a regular size box in a large bath. I also wouldn't let the bath water get too hot, which is hard on skin, just warm. For a yeasty rash, you can put a topical OTC remedy for yeast infections, like monistat, on it. It won't solve the problem but it will make him feel better, and make him look fine for school. We wipe our skin down with diet tonic water and/or peroxide when we get a skin rash from die off. If it's really bad, we follow that up with a very warm to hot shower. That usually gets things under control for about a day or so and can repeated as needed. If it's bad enough, you might try a salt water and apple juice bath. Pour at least a cup of salt and half a gallon of apple juice in the tub, add bath water. (I have used up to two gallons of apple juice and an entire container of salt on occasion.) The water should be tepid or slightly warm. It should be comfortable for the person who is going to soak. Let them soak for up to 30 minutes. Salt water and apple juice has a powerful healing effect on the skin. I have used it to good effect to treat burns, mashed fingers, and chemical exposures. I poured boiling water over half my left hand once. I treated it for a few hours with apple juice and salt water. There is no scar of any kind. For the diarhhea, if it's not a problem food, rice might help firm things up. Gelatin might help as well. I sometimes take gelatin as a supplement by boiling water, filling a cup or glass about half to three quarters full, and pouring in a packet of plain gelatin (no sugars or dyes). Stir vigorously and add fruit juice to cool it off a bit and give it some flavor. Drink fairly rapidly, stirring occasionally, so you don't wind up with goo pooled in the bottom of the glass. Good luck with this. Michele http://www.healthgazelle.org http://www.kidslikemine.org http://www.solanorail.org
Guest guest
Tylenol is hard on kidneys, will actually kill your pets according to our vet. Though many use it to reduce fever, that is often undesirable in illness (unless fever is above 102 for extended period) as fever is required to fight infection. So, you kill the fever and disable the kidneys and make the body less capable of battling. There is more to it, but those are the 2 biggies here. Alyssa Davi wrote: > > Thanks for your reply.
