Guest guest
Dear FORUM, It is known that the CBO (Community Based Organizations) can work properly for the community in HIV/AIDS prevention and control in Indial. Due to this belef NACO has accepted the CBO policy with sustainability of the programs. But when we go in actual field situation this policy of workting through CBS are practically very wrong. The following are some of the major problems with the community based organization in the india. 1. when community based organization are given the authority to work for their own community, the leaders of community groups (CBOs) divert from HIV/AIDS issues to their MSM issues. As, there is no funds available for MSM issues purposes. These people are using the HIV/AIDS program funds for their MSM activities and neglecting the HIV/AIDS issues. 2. The MSM CBO community are trying to build the seperate community of MSM from the general society and hence they are not accepting the members of the general society in the MSM communty issues. 3. The money is wasted due to this policy. 4. Similar is the situation of PLHIVI networks in the INDIA. 5. The CBOs are mostly trying to addapt the project that gives the funds to the CBOs but in actuall these CBO are working only to make money. They do not havy any care of their community people. they are only using the streinght of community for their own benifit. 6. When we study the details of the property of CBO owners/directors, it will be noted that when this people form the CBO that time these people were unable to take the two times meal. But now these people are having their own crores of ruppess worth property, bunglows, jwelleries, lands, farmhouses etc. Then the question arise here, that from where thise money come to this people?. MY DECLARATION. If the situation remains as it is, definately the HIV/AIDS situation will be more dangerous in future and because of NACO has accepted this CBO policy, the NACO will be respoinsible for all this things.
