At our house we fast for 24 hours until diarrhea slows or stops, only

clear liquids. BRAT diet after fasting, slowly introduce the brat foods

starting with toast. If diarrhea restarts, then introducing solids was

too soon, and we go back to clear liquids. For clear liquids here we

use water and tea. If appears to be dehydration, we add a bit of sea

salt to the water.
