Guest guest
That was also one of my thoughts too, unless of course, if she stopped prematurely. Guest guest
What else does Melatonin do for our children besides help with sleep? My child doesn't have problems with sleep. Should I beusing it for something else? Thanks for the response. Guest guest
It's an anti-oxidant as well. > > > > Andy, > > > > > > > > I was looking at some old posts and came across this one, message 6209: > > > > http://health. groups.. com/group/ / message/6209 > > > > > > > > The J of neurochemistry published research out of basil swiz. Melatonin is part of serotonin metabolism, and melatonin is (produced) in the pineal gland. wishing you the best, elizabeth
Guest guest
If serotonin is an issue, then it is worth considering precursors like tryptophan and 5HTP. This could also be helpful with anxiety and mood among other things. Food sources of tryptophan include chicken, beef, soya beans, spinach, almonds, walnuts, and many more. eli8591 wrote: > > > > > > What else does Melatonin do for our children besides help with > sleep? Guest guest
What's with melatonin now? Yesterday a study came out that it helped with the inflammation that is in uveitis, the vision threatening eye disease that my daughter has. They said that melatonin acted with anti inflammatory properties. Well melatonin acts in the brain...and autism is considered by some to be brain/gut inflammation so there might be something to this. I am on a lymes disease group now and they use melatonin to kill pathogens in their brain. so I give my daughter with uveitis melatonin tonight, a chewable we had, only I didn't notice it had mint in it, so I antidoted her homeopathic remedy. What a dope!!! Anyhow....melatonin....I want to read more about it.
Guest guest
quick related thought to 's vision/uveitis post - Strictly anecdotal - because my daughters' migraines went down, her sleep became " normal, " her clunking/stumbling type of walking dramatically improved (a connect to the vision), her need for melatonin JUST to sleep at all " went away, " - all these, when we eliminated as many (environmental) fluoride, aluminum & tin sources as I could come up with...I consider fluoride huge, with aluminum right there with it...fluoride accumulates in pineal gland, much more than in bones, etc and aluminum is a great carrier for aluminum (go figure, eh) - these two are big nasties, imho...avoiding these has given us our best results (to date). I have rather zero tolerance for these. There can be some rather noticeable regressions, whenever I reintroduce previously " banned " things, of this sort - eating canned foods/cooking with teflon comes to mind. Other people's food, pretty much sums it up, big sigh...It seems we have no tolerance for such things & these, among the other banned things, will most likely remain " banned " at my house. And, insult to injury - mercury just compounds & increases the whole big mess of it all. urg. super urg & a growl...wishing all the best, elizabeth > > What's with melatonin now?
