Guest guest
I hate to ask stupid questions, but I just need to know this. I have stopped the DMSA and I am only chelating with ALA now. My daughter is 3 and we just finised round 13 this past weeked. We haven't gotten the DDI test back yet so I have no idea if she has lead. I know she has mercury because she has pretty much every sign of mercury toxicity. Anyway, DMSA made my daughter crazy. It made her hump things and act like something nonhuman. ALA on the other hand is wonderful. This past round I only used ALA and the round was the best so far. She even ate dinner at the table with us yesterday which has NEVER happened! So, my question is this... when I get the DDI results back and if they show lead or other things, do I have to chelate with DMSA? Can I just use ALA and hope that the other metals will leave her body? I really don't want to go back to using both. Okay, sorry if this question is redundant. I did some research and asked some questions, and several people did reply that ALA did cause their child to excrete lead, as evidenced by test results. So I believe ALA does excrete lead, altho probably not as well as DMSA does. Dana
Guest guest
Thanks Dana. I will stick with ALA alone. I thought the humping was yeast but once I stopped the DMSA the humping stopped. The humping also started when the DMSA started. I was thinking it might have raised her cysteine levels and increased her libido? Sounds weird, yes, but at least it's gone now. Thanks so much. > > Anyway, DMSA made my daughter crazy. Guest guest
Some people have chelated their kids entirely with ALA. My son was strange on ALA alone, so that didn't work for us. Guest guest
, I'm in the same boat. We are using ALA only also. My son had bad reactions to DMSA, not humping, but stomping and slamming himself onto his knees and headbanging. My son humps when he has beans, it's really weird, somehow the food allergy causes it. > > > Anyway, DMSA made my daughter crazy. Toxic level of copper is not common, but it the symptoms are very like mercury. > > Anyway, DMSA made my daughter crazy. It made her hump things and act > like something nonhuman. I mean, there's the anti-oxidant bit, but somehow the sulfur part is more what I think could be here. You might want to read more about sulfur http://home.earthlink.net/~moriam/ANDY_INDEX.html#sulfur Anyway, that is not what you asked Regarding lead, I think wait and see what the hair test says. And then, if so, there's always more to talk about LOL. Like, um, yes, I think you would want to use DMSA -- but if that really won't work there are other options -- and maybe DMSA + something else (like sulfury food?) would work. No use getting deep into it if you don't need to (e.g. if not high lead). best, Moria
Guest guest
-Thanks Moria! Funny you say this, because I was thinking she might be low sulpher too. I used to hide garlic in her food and she was always very clear after eating it. I am really hoping she isn't high copper, I do give 65mg of zinc a day. But I will post if DDI if it ever comes back! Thanks so much. -- In , " moriamerri " <moriam@...> wrote: > > > > > > I hate to ask stupid questions, but I just need to know this. > > Funny how the questions that have this in front of them are so > often really great questions... > > > > > I have stopped the DMSA and I am only chelating with ALA now.
