Guest guest
My son's lips and hands and feet will turn purple from time to time even when not in seizure mode. Sure is scarey as I am told to ignore this by his docs. mjh In a message dated 6/3/02 4:56:22 AM Eastern Daylight Time, mystical1972@... writes: > Last night, when asleep Astrid's lips turned blue, this blueness spread to > her nose and then turned blackish, she did not appear to be having a sz and > she was breathing normally. Guest guest
Mabe she was dreaming about her sz. Sleep is where we work things out, our fears, trauma etc. Still I would ask the doctor about it. Has she ever had one of those eegs where the patient is on the machine for many hours. Our is on C-PAP and has been for a year now. I'd get a consult for a Sleep Clinic that is kid friendly and go from there. That is just my Mommy opinion. I hope you can do that soon. Bless you! He has sleep apnea and we have been trying to get them to give us a c-pap for almost three years. We are going to Kennedy Kreiger Institute this summer. We can't get any help here. I went to dental school today to see if Micah could be fitted for a palette extender and they wanted to put him in a papoose and try to gete a mold of his mouth. I questioned putting him to sleep to do this. The last time they used a papoose on him (and only time ever I will see to that) he wet himself and was so hysterical by the time they finished filling a tooth that he was doing that cry were you are sucking for air. I cried right alongside him and told them " never again " veterinarians don't use papooses on dogs. I am NOT a proponent of tying up a kid to work on them. I understand that some have behaviors (sensory) that make it difficult but come on how humane is it really. So now I am waiting to see if they will put him to sleep to do this. The girl said the the doctor that runs the school is a huge proponent of papoosing. I told her " yeah because he isn't the one being papoosed " It seems like every single thing that we do for our children requires a ight for them. ~~~~sigh~~~~ it's frustrating to say the least. Guest guest
It just dawned on me that this could be a problem. Six days out of the hospital, after my dd was born, I took her to the doctors because she had a blueish tint around her lips. Three days after that, I took her back because she had a walnut sized lump under her ear. I wonder if the blue lips was lack of oxygen? and could have caused seizure like activity on the EEG's? If it was lack of oxygen, I would think that the damage is irreversible, right?
