Guest guest
It was suggested to me from another support group that treating with Paratrex for two weeks and then one week of Artemesia and Cloves by Bio Ray and then one week off and then start over. So, that is what I am going to do. I will update you on if I see any improvements with my two boys. Guest guest
yes, pinworm infection is quite common, often asymptomatic (or nearly so) and easily spread among young kids and family members in close contact (eggs are microscopic and live outside the body for 2-3 weeks). So changing undies and nightclothes every day and even changing bedsheets every day or two during the time you're treating is also important (what a pain!) But it's short term and prevents reinfestation. Short nails and , well, this thread on Mothering has a ton of info. Guest guest
, My boys would jump in their cribs for hours after we put them to bed before they could settle down to sleep. They weren't upset - just could not settle down to sleep. Then they would wake up again any where from 3-5am ready to go for the day. So, we got very little sleep for a long time. But after getting them off of casein and gluten and other problematic foods and discovering melatonin, they started to go to sleep pretty quickly. But they were still waking up any where from 1-3 am ready to go for the day. After I discovered 5HTP and Liver Life, they now will go to sleep as soon as I put them to bed and will sleep for about 12 hours. Which is good because they are four years old. But I feel for you because they did not sleep for the first three years of their lives. I feel parasited may still be a problem due to their strange behaviour at the new moon and full moon and their bloated bellies. Hope you can figure every thing out. Guest guest
I really feel my dd big problem is due to seizures activity. I am treating them with B6 and seeing some good results. I am a bit confused though and this is why: I am not sure if the seizures are due to lack of oxygen at birth or a virus from the Hep B vaccine, so I am treating with all these B's but ... at some point I feel I should try pulling out the virus or perhaps using the HBOT for the lack of oxygen. Does this sound reasonable to you? On Nov 28, 2008, at 9:45 AM, dana pope wrote: > , > > My boys would jump in their cribs for hours after we put them to > bed before they could settle down to sleep. Guest guest
Melatonin will definitely get my dd to sleep... but it gives her nightmares and makes her mean the next day. Guest guest
, if melatonin caused nightmares, then the dosage was too high. Alhtough I haven't read too much about it, but it could've also contributed to her mean behavior the next day. I know some people need more, but my 4yo only needs a sliver of a 1mg sublingual. I take 1 1mg sublingual sometimes, and if I take more than that my dreams get really strange.
Guest guest
> > Melatonin will definitely get my dd to sleep... but it gives her > nightmares and makes her mean the next day. Some thoughts, and I apologize if you know all this already: When someone is sleep deprived for a long time and starts sleeping again, they end up having vivid dreams. Most people experience these as " nightmares " . I have found that knowing in advance that I will have intense, vivid dreams makes them less likely to be experienced as nightmares. No matter what method you use to get her to sleep, if she has been sleep deprived a long time, you will likely see a stage where she has nightmares. My 21 year old son did some reading on melatonin. It apparently does something important for immune function as well. I think one reason melatonin may contribute to nightmares is due to the lymphatic system putting stress on the heart while sleeping. I sometimes wake up feeling like I have severely low blood sugar but what I have figured on in recent months is that shaky feeling can also be cause by my immune system working hard and putting stress on my heart with all the toxins being dumped (at least that's my best mental model). I used to be severely hypoglycemic and I always thought " the shakes " was purely about low blood sugar. But my blood sugar is far more stable these days and I still sometimes get them. If the nightmares are caused in part by the fact that it supports the immune system and causes some kind of healing crisis during sleep, co-q-10 in the morning might help. It is good heart support and it is the co-factor for melatonin. Taking melatonin won't cause you to make more co-q-10 but taking co-q-10 will cause your body to make more melatonin about 12 hours later. Most of the time, I take co-q-10 in the morning but don't take melatonin at night. I have been taking melatonin at night recently. For someone whose brain is very chemically out of whack, I recommend you do both to help the brain establish the right chemical waking and sleep cycle. If melatonin is not tolerated well (and I couldn't tolerate it at one time -- I felt like I couldn't fully wake up for days after taking one pill), then I recommend taking co-q-10 in the morning and not taking melatonin. I now tolerate melatonin, though I buy a low dose brand and take lots of little pills rather than one or two big pills because I have finer control over dosage that way. Melatonin is currently the best thing I can take when I get certain pains in my teeth that nothing else helps. I'm reasonably sure it's some kind of infection trying to hide in the two teeth that had root canals and are therefore " dead " and not fully accessed by my immune system. I have tried olive leaf extract, oil of oregano and other things, with little to no effect. A bunch of melatonin in the evening does wonders. So I feel strongly that some of the stress I have when I take melatonin is because it supports my body's ability to battle some things. Die off could be part of why your child is mean the next day. Peace and good luck with this. Michele http://www.healthgazelle.org http://www.kidslikemine.org http://www.solanorail.org
Guest guest
She only needs a teeny teeny bit to knock her out. I think she may have a hard time with methyl donors. Do you happen to know of a good seizure group? I would love to talk to them about what they are trying to help with their children. Guest guest
, no, I don't know of any good seizure groups. But you can try searching for one in , or mothering.com's forums are usually full of good info. GL!
