Can anyone recommend a great vitamin reference/supplement book?

Green pastures also has a range in the 5,000 IU's of A per dose. We

give that once a day, but I also give another 10,000 IU's But I don't

believe that is required. It's just the dosing for his weight we chose

to use. I found the Nordic too low in A and would give extra, but many

people don't. Depends on what your child needs. Mine needs the extra

immune support.

I find the recommend RDI's are grossly under estimated. They also

claim that 60mg if vitamin C is plenty and I know that if I do not

give my son 1,000 mg a day, he bruises up. I found it more necessary

to learn about what each vitamin dose in the body and how much is

actually needed to accomplish that. The RDA's are recommended daily

allowances, but they are made up by the government, the same people

who got the food pyramid wrong for many years. They are the bare

minimum of what they think the body needs. Not what it needs to

function properly, or what it needs if you are toxic or sick.

I do not see 6,000 IU's a day as too much for a 4-8 year old. Unless

you see signs of toxicity, and usually it takes over 100,000 IU to see

that. And that dose must be given for days.

Learning what the signs and symptoms of toxicity for vitamins/minerals

is also good, they have books on this, but you can probably find that

information online too, so that you can feel confident that you are

giving reasonable doses, it will also let you know if they are getting

too much.

Since my children do not wish to take CLO more than once a day..due to

taste...lol. I have found it easier to take a vitamin A gel cap and

open it, adding the contents to their CLO dose. That way they are

getting enough A each day and we are not multi dosing the CLO. Which

would be very expensive anyway.

You can also use the high vitamin clo we mention instead and that

would supply 5,000 IU a day, and if you feel good with that amount, no

more would be needed.
