supplements and chelation

I am just about to start chelating my son using DMSA suppositories.

He weighs around 35lbs and we are using the 3 days on 11 days off

protocol. During the 3 days, my son will on each day be given one

DMSA suppository of 100mg.

Just a few questions before I start:

1. My DAN asked me to stop all macro-mineral supplements such as

multivitamin, Zinc, Cal/mag, iron etc, within 24 hours before,

during and within 24 hours after the last dose of DMSA. Does that

sound right? If chelation will draw minerals from my son's body,

then shouldn't I increase them whilst he is undergoing chelation?

2. Some of my friends have tried DMSA suppository on their children

but changed to other methods due to constipation. How should I

resolve any constipation arising?

3. I have read that some people use something called NDF plus and/or

activated charcoal to " mop up " any loose metals on the last day of

chelation. Can someone tell me to do this? Should I give the

activated charcoal before giving the DMSA or what?

4. My son is ultra sensitive and is likely to be cranky on the DMSA

suppository, because of the method of administration; and also to

the DMSA itself (all my friends' kids have major meltdowns on this

method of chelation, at least for the first few rounds). Does

anyone have any experience how to deal with this?

5. I read that yeast is likely to flare up on the 3rd day. Can

anyone share with me how to deal with this? I currently give my son

GSE 4 drops twice a day. I also give him biotin (4mg a day). I

also give him custom probiotic 3 small scoops a day.

Sorry about so many questions, but I am very nervous about chelating

my son and wanna make sure I know how to deal with any problems that

may arise.

Many many thanks for all your help in advance.

Regards,
