It would be helpful, for people to comment, if you gave a complete

list of the supplements.

I found this same thing recently with my daughter. I stopped all of

her biotin, cut down on magnesium (way down), stopped CLO and switched

to Vit A fish oils a couple times a week and she is calmer and less

irritated. She is doing much better without so many things and it's

been over a week now.

The only time I will increase her yeast meds is during chelation

rounds, but I have also found that her yeast isn't a huge issue

anymore during chelation and we have only done 13 rounds so far.

I don think sometimes there are too many supps. I am focusing more on

bacteria, parasites and liver now and the big thing being metals. My

daughter doesn't even get B vits at the moment because I found they

made her crazy, high pitched squealing and hyper. I do give her

minerals though and enzymes.

I really think a lot of DAN! docs prescribe way too many things which

are bandaids in a lot of cases, instead of just removing or healing

what needs to be healed. Just my opinion.

Yep. Sometimes it is good to stop (or reduce), take a step back, and

restart to see if anything that once was good (or neutral) is now

causing a problem or simply unnecessary.

We had that happen with TMG. It seemed to ramp up language when we

first gave it. Used it for a year and then stopped for a year

(chelating during this time, too). When we restarted it, TMG was a

nightmare supplement! Seems the need was no longer there and it

actually became a negative.

Don't know all you are giving, but I agree that there can be such a

thing as too many supplements.

I did this several times, when it became apparent to me that my son no

longer needed one or more of the supps I was giving.

Wait a week, then add back one at a time, at about 1/4 the previous

dose, see which ones he still needs and which ones he no longer needs.

We occasionally took a break off of supplements for 2 days or even a

week sometimes while he chelated. This was after a solid 6 months in.

We also would run out of one thing and sometimes have to take a week

or two to afford to replace it. This often told us what the supplement

helped with. You could do the start all over thing where you add back

one thing at a time again, every 2 or 3 days to see if there is

anything he doesn't need anymore. We always dosed supplements on

round though. I used muscle testing every week to determine what to

put in the pill minder.

I did exactly what Dana did.(Thanks for all the great advice, Dana).

I strongly recommend starting over every month or two. The only

things that have been near constant for us are Vitamin C (in the form

of Amla) and Cal-mag-D powder in the same capsule. I give this to my

children in the morning with breakfast and I try to remember to give

it with dinner too. I do give several other supplements before and

during chelation cycles, I always try to make sure there is some

reason or symptom I am giving them for though, not just because

someone else is or because I heard it was " good " . It's all been a

learning experience. Listen to your child's body.

There is definitely such a thing as too many. Think of how much the liver and

kidneys need

to process when they are taking all those capsules, many of which do have

fillers, etc. When

my eldest recently went onto a homeopathic, he was so annoyed at having to take

so many

supplements that we made a deal - a 3 day break during which he could take

whatever

supplement he felt like, and I'd observe how he was behaving. Somehow it was

much better.

He kept taking CLO, TMG/fol/B12 and probiotics, and dropped CoQ-10, carnitine,

etc. The

homeopathic was very effective for a couple weeks; we saw much better mood and

energy.

Now however I think he is needing something. We are going to focus on TCM for

liver and

" qi " support which is the most important I think.

I think you are right about the amount of energy needed to process the

supplements in the first place. we've been going to the hot springs

almost every weekend so he may be getting so many minerals transdermally.

So, given that we chelate with DMSA at 1/2 mg per lb... I'm thinking

we have to keep zinc, selenium, vitamin c and magnesium on board.

Would that be the bare minimum so I could start testing the rest of

the supps?

Sorry for the delay in getting back to this thread. My son turned 5

this weekend so it's been a bit hectic.
