Guest guest
Dear all, /message/11610 This issue and the funding of Outreach Worker positions should become matters of Urgency for discussion at the International AIDS Conference in July 2010 in Vienna, AUSTRIA. I can only afford to go as a working Volunteer this year but I will be on the lookout for anyone who wants to raise or speak to the issue. Guest guest
Dear all, Re: /message/11610 In addition to this, it will be good to ensure that the TI NGOs exist and do their alloted work. Because many of the TI NGOs are existing in paper and do not actually work. But we keep on saying this and that will be looked after by TI NGOs. Unless NACO and SACS act transperently, TI NGOs will only become better and not the society or affected community. Guest guest
Dear Forum members, Re: /message/11626 I also support the statement of Dr.S.Raman. I think that there was uncertain or sudden reporting system and implementing new concepts were forced the TI NGOs to concentrate more on paper work rather than filed . The targeted people are moveable in nature. It is also making the TI NGO in to the burden situation. Anyway, the streamlining of the activities of the projects and implementers may help to get the expected outcome and results in an effective way . Guest guest
Dear Geoff, Re: /message/11620 Its been after a while I am connecting once again with you as I fail to access my e-mail account due to unforseen condition, but its very fortunate that we meet for the good cause. As I had already shared my bitter experience regarding my discontinuation of my job as PLHIV Coordinator in manipur state AIDS Control Society (MSACS), India which can be taken up as a common problem face by many in our community. At this very nodal agency only 2 of us who are HIV+ve are recruited as staff as Gipa Coordinator and PLHIV coordinator. Regarding this matter I am really concern why the post PLHIV Coordinator contract is not extended which can be fit in any available services besides giving more concern in PPTCT area which is a part of basic service components. In this area it will be very realistic to raise the concern area to be more effective so as to continue the working area with much excitement dealing with the ongoing problems and issues for the PLHA community as a whole. What actually needs to address from my point of view is to really take good notice about the concept and principles of GIPA to all the existing staffs who are working in the state nodal agency. This will surely create a room and time for the higher up official in the nodal agency to rethink about the effective response, PLHAs can play possessing the post instead ignoring without much concern. On one side it is also a high time to address the issues related with job facilities own and possessed by any PLHA in such a reputed agency which represents the nation as a whole. Few quick points which relate with the above mentioned are: 1) Its not the effective and useful gameplan removing a PLHA staff where only few are appointed which have a total strength of more than 100 staffs. 2) It will be more convenient if enough time is given to the PLHA staffs even if it is necessary to discontinue the service contract rather exercising their rules or norms out of a sudden in no time without giving any sort of reason. 3) Also it will be more systematic if the said few PLHAs post can be adjusted to certain workable areas which will never end with this ongoing working nature and its control and preventive programme. 4) Lastly, every PLHA will be very fortunate acknowledging the long struggle which the parental agencies or firms associated with it, enough space and right opportunity is provided to every single PLHAs.
