Thanks and keep them coming!] > > Dana > This is a half-formed thought that's been rummaging around in the back of my head and has been encouraged by events last night. I think that when an organ like the kidneys is not working properly, there are things that can be done to use other pathways to eliminate toxins from the system. I ended up with swollen feet last night, something I used to suffer from frequently but rarely have these days. I took a warm salt water bath to treat my feet (not the swelling per se -- some other issues that indirectly led to the swelling) and the swelling came down some. This may be relevant to kidney function -- I am reminded of someone else's remarks about eating watermelon to reduce swelling after a traumatic birthing experience. I have had good results with doing things like wiping my skin down with peroxide or diet tonic water and then showering as a means to treat things like yeast overgrowth in the gut. The skin is the largest organ in the human body. I think it can be encouraged to substitute somewhat for the function of other organs that are too impaired to properly eliminate the waste load they are supposed to handle. I have also found that removing toxic cleaners and other sources of stressful inputs from my environment lightens the load of what my body needs to process out. With the bottle-neck in my own body that I have been dealing with for years, lightening the load of toxic inputs has been critical to my ability to get healthier.
