Guest guest
Stacie, My son still can't swallow pills, but he learned to take lauricidin but placing it (pushed down but still partly visible) in fresh cheese (strained yogurt). Fresh cheese is very thick. Plain yogurt or anything more liquid like that wouldn't work for us. I also would say, " don't chew, don't chew " . He did chew the first time and lauricidin tastes just awful. That helped him understand what I meant. I started with just one, but after a few weeks he could take 15- 20 at a time. It caused massive amounts of yeast here, so much that I was unable to control it. I moved to other anti-virals, which still caused a lot of yeast, but not as much as the Lauricidin. Guest guest
I haven't started giving it to him yet. Thanks for the suggestion! Guest guest
Thanks for the help! I actually tried one tonight...chewed it up. Wasn't as aweful as I thought it was going to be but pretty bad. My son is on SCD diet and no dairy, so I'm thinking I'll have to hide it in butternut squash or something. I like the " don't chew " idea. I think we'll give that a whirl. Guest guest
Dana, Were your kids SCD when doing Lauricidin? We've finally gotten my son's yeast issues well under control through diet. He's only on biotin for maintenance. Just curious about the yeast you saw with your kids. Thanks Stacie Mom to Will, 3 1/2, fighting hard to recover from ASD...and winning! > > > > Anyone have experience using Lauricidin with their kiddo? > > > It caused massive amounts of yeast here, so much that I was unable to > control it. Guest guest
> Dana, what was your dose for Lauricidin? I started with one pellet per day, and increased up to a full scoop. Way too much yeast, even with just one pellet. >>I have the pellets and the dose on the back says 1/4 tsp to 1 tsp 1-3 times a day. Do you use this instead of vira-stop or OLE? Or do you use it in combo? I switched from Lauricidin to OLE/Virastop, because the yeast was uncontrollable with Lauricidin. Yeast was " a lot but controllable " with OLE/Virastop. > I am having great results with high Vit A. I have been giving 200,000 iu for the last 3 days. > Am I now supposed to back down to normal doses (ie 25,000iu a day) for the remaining days of the month and then do the high doses again for 2 days at 300,000 to 400,000 iu the next month? I did high dose protocol twice. Your 200,000 IU does not qualify as " high dose protocol " , not sure you were trying to do that or not. It is 400,000 IU per day for two days. http://www.danasview.net/vitamina.htm Dana
Guest guest
> Dana, > Were your kids SCD when doing Lauricidin? No, my son did not tolerate most of the SCD legal foods. >>We've finally gotten my > son's yeast issues well under control through diet. He's only on > biotin for maintenance. Just curious about the yeast you saw with your > kids. The yeast on Lauricidin was uncontrollable, despite giving doses of GSE that I was really uncomfortable giving. So I went to OLE/Virastop, and then vitamin C and lysine, and I did have to use high doses of biotin and GSE, but not so high that I was uncomfortable giving them.
