We are not chelating.

I originally did the tests earlier this year to see where to start but she was

doing so well with supplements only that after starting acouple of rounds

earlier this year we stopped.  She continued to improve so we kept with the

supplement route.  I started thinking of chelating again because I was wondering

if it would add to her gains, if it was a neccessity in her progression, etc.

There was just an initial shock to see that she was having great gains in spite

of her toxicity.

It is just making me rethink this issue that I thought I somewhat understood:

chelation.  I mean we not only did Pory, we did an entire panel including Neuro

yet it is all the same as it was in January!

This is just extremely frustrating when I am trying to figure out what direction

to take with my daughter's recovery.

So ignore the test and keep chelating.

I don't know what your chelation protocol is, but for example, small

amounts of lead or mercury leaving the brain may not show up on a

urine test, but if they are leaving her brain, you would notice

improvements.

The beginning, when we started about 1 1/2 year ago, my daughter had no words,

walked on her toes, some doctors mistook her for having CP to due the

positioning of her hands and the way she walked.  We started with GFCF then

Floortime; the SI and the diet alone helped with her " body stance " .

I got my daughter's first lab done close to the end of 2007 then off and on we

did a liquid chelation called Zeolite and did ALOT of Vitamin C (while doing

Enzymes, ProBiotics, Yeast Protocol, Viral Protocols, Minerals, etc.).  By the

2nd test in January 08, her Lead levels had dropped a little but Mercury was

still extremely high.  After the Hair test, we started ALA (3 on, 4 off) but

stopped after the 5th round because I could not get control of the Yeast.  (Was

using Candex and periodically put AC Vinegar in her drinks)  So, the remainder

of the year no chelation BUT we continued with everything else.

Now the test was a complete Panel in January and I did the same Panel in

November and was extremely surprised that everything was practically the same.

I knew that I wasn't chelatingn so I did not expect the Mercury to move but in

the back of my head, I did think that a significant change was happening with

her internally because now my daughter is attempting to do cart wheels (she can

do forward rolls with no problem), is now saying 3 word sentences and every once

in while, after some high input activity, a complete sentence will pop out.

We still have a long way to go so I thought I'd take a look at her levels, get a

good starting point and try again.  Well, to me, my starting point is extremely

messed up, and unlike you guys, I can't just judge a symptom and say, " Okay she

needs this for that, "   I'm not that experienced.  If I had a good starting point

then I can research it and have a better idea of what I'm doing because it's

obvious that the tests are not that reliable.

Anyhow, I'm going to redo my log book and start all over again, reintroduce

everything so that I can have idea of what does what and revisit chelation after

the holidays.

Thanks

If you are not chelating, then it would make sense that the tests are

not showing much change.

Is she on a special diet? Do you have to give supplements every day?

Once my son was chelated and his levels of nutrients were

normalized, he required no special diet and he also required fewer and

fewer supplements. Today he needs only one daily supplement. My

husband and I wanted my son to have no chance of regression, so that

after we were gone, he would be fine even if he ate anything and never

took supplements. Chelation was the first step to reach this goal.

Besides diet/supplement issues, are there any other issues that your

child has, that you would like to address?

===>How much Ala, how frequently did you dose it? Ala will actually chelate

metals, unlike the Zeolite.===>

My daughter is 53lbs and I was doing 12.5mg of ALA every 3 hours.  I'm going to

start lower than this next time.

===>Try wild or emulsified Oil of Oregano and/or GSE and lots of

probiotics, biotin, candex, etc. It takes a bit of experimenting to

find out what will work for you dd..===>

I have all of these and have used them but it's obvious that the recommended

dosage doesn't work and so I have to increase and that is the big fear with me.

I want to increase the dosage but I have this paranoia that I might do too

much.  Even after I go and research side-effects and interactions with other

supplements, I'm still kinda nervous.  (That's probably why her reaction to the

chelation freaked me out so much.)

But, it is what it is and I have to get over it and just be cautious.  I went to

Walmart and bought another log book so I could start again and write down my

observations so that when I chelate after the holidays I'll be more comfortable.

Thanks for the Pep talk because I was definitely in a WTF mood after reading the

results.
