Guest guest
I posted last week about my 6 yr old Asperger's son getting a mercury filling by mistake. I've researched for 2 weeks and now am wondering if it's safest just to have the tooth pulled, rather than have the mercury filling removed and replaced with white resin. (It's a baby tooth, and he could get a spacer there, and we wouldn't have to worry about that extremely exact procedure going haywire due to his uncooperative behavior, thus making things much worse for him.) I talked to a dentist who said it may be the best choice overall. Then I need to find out what would be a safe sedative to give him for this procedure. Am wondering what the board thinks of this idea. My husband believes that it may be safest to leave the mercury filling in, something which I disagree with. Can anyone provide an article, or some documentation, about the possibility of mercury damaging the brain if left in the body? And also, how long it would take for this to begin harming the body, as well? Thanks for your guidance. Penny
