Debbie-

I too started out with the Slow Fe iron supplements - but they are

only about 50 mg each. My iron levels continued to go down. Then I

started taking some prescription iron that was 325 mg each. I just

got my first month's supply of the Chromagen Forte and I am really

looking forward to seeing what it does for me. There is 151 mg of

iron in each capsule. I am taking 2 a day. But if we absorb it

easier then that should be enough. I am careful to take vit C with

the iron and I make sure I don't take any calcium within hours of the

iron.

I need more energy and I am hoping my lack of energy is due to my low

iron!!

Oh, Dana, you are too kind. I know very little about vitamins. I

have been trying to learn to help my low iron. I benefit so much

from people like you on this list and the OSSG-Graduate list.

  • 6 years later...

Hi ,

my son continued to be borderline anemic also, he's 6 now. After

stopping all iron supplements and 13 rounds of ALA chelation, he's

within normal range. He even got some freckles this summer and

doesn't look so pale anymore.

For an intersring and shortish article on Iron Supps the below might be useful.

www.healthy.net/asp/templates/column.asp?PageType=column & ID=68

You might need a pen and paper for this as I'm not sure if you can just click on

it.

Most Iron supplements in pill form contain far too much Iron than can be

absorbed.
