Guest guest
HI, We have used ALA we purchased from iHerb. I actually brought it to a pharmacist friend to have compounded in the right amounts for my 2 kids. We have noted constant and good improvement, and are only up to 1/12 mg per pound. Like yours, mine are both older. One is 14, NT, and the other is 18, Aspergers. We started over 6 months ago. I can tell you that unknowingly we chased a lot of symptoms for years. I think that the chelation has made it so we can stop chasing symptoms and things are getting better. Once you decide what your child needs, and have researched it thoroughly to know proper dosing and timing, then just start. We started VERY low dose, lower than recommended at 1/16 mg per pound and still saw great results. We had no problems with my sons yeast building up again, which was a big concern for me. We just occasionally had to give him some GSE, but just biotin daily kept it pretty much at bay. I was worried that he would react strongly to the change and moving metals out. But, it was the 14 year old we had to adjust supplements for. In the end, I can say I have been pleasantly surprised at the ease of chelation and speed of improvement. Other than the couple of issues that had us add extra magnesium and increase water intake for our daughter, it has been very smooth. Family members have all be very excited with the improvement in my son, the 18 year old. Hope that helps.
